Hi everyone,

This coming weekend is the start of the finals.

Finals

Teams 1 through to 4 will be playing the next 2 weeks. It has been a great season for everyone and all your children should be very proud of themselves. Whether you have made the finals or not, if you win or lose it does not matter as all the children have proven themselves to be champions.

We have achieved some amazing results this season. Rockets will have over 30 teams playing in finals over the weekend so there will not be many games where a Rockets team is not playing. In our U12 boys we have 4 teams in Red in the finals, 2 teams in Purple and 1 team in Gold. 3 of our 4 girls U14 team have also made the finals. There are only 2 girls' teams that have not made finals (the 2 teams were still very good and had a great time) and the list goes on about some of our amazing results.

I am looking forward to seeing our children enjoying the experience of playing finals. Many children may never experience playing finals in their life time so it is very special. I wish everyone good luck, stay focused, give it your best shot and above all just have fun and take plenty of photos.

Coaches

Our coaches at all levels have done an amazing job starting with U8 where they learn to have fun and enjoy the experience. We start our U8 & U10 enjoying themselves; it is not all about learning complicated things before they are ready, it's about having fun and when children are enjoying ourselves everyone learns.

I thank each and every coach as you not only teach our players to play well but also to be great people.

Queensland representatives

State titles were held just recently and I would like to congratulate 2 Rockets boys. Brandon Nolan made the junior State team and Jasraj Gill for making the senior state team. Both boys have been with Rockets since they were 8 years old so it is wonderful to see what can be achieved with lots of hard work.

Both boys will be travelling to Perth in September to compete at the nationals.

Assist

The Assist program is a little different as it is more of a holistic approach where there is a coaching program and players program. If any Rockets coach would like to attend the Coaches part of the day, Rockets will pay for half of that part, please contact your coordinator.

NBL1 Game with free food.

This Saturday we will again have our U8/10 playing games at the NBL1 games. Again every child that wears Rockets gear gets free hot chips and nuggets or something similar.
