Our U12 to U23 programs cater for players of all skill levels — from those developing their game to those looking to compete at higher levels.
We aim to create an environment where every player:

A Pathway for Every Player
Whether your goal is to:
- Play with friends and enjoy the game
- Improve your skills and confidence
- Or progress to representative or higher-level basketball
Rockets provides a clear and supportive development pathway.
Players have opportunities to progress through:
- Junior competition
- Higher divisions within the club
- Representative pathways (district / state)
Competition Structure
- Teams are formed based on:
- Age group
- Skill level
- Team balance
- In Winter & Summer seasons, teams may be graded into divisions (e.g. Red, Purple, Gold) to ensure competitive and enjoyable games
- For tournament-style seasons (e.g. Term 1), divisions may vary depending on format
This ensures all players are playing at a level that supports both development and enjoyment.
Winter Season 2026 – Important Info
- Season runs across Terms 2 & 3 (April – September)
- Players participate via an Expression of Interest (EOI) process
- Teams are formed based on numbers and venue availability

Training & Games
- Weekly team training sessions

Age Groups & Equipment
- Age groups are based on birth year

Ball sizes:
- U12: Size 5
- U14: Size 6
- U16 & above (boys): Size 7
- U14 & above (girls): Size 6
Fees (Winter Season 2026)

Includes:
- Training and games
- Insurance and administration
📌 Basketball Queensland (BQ), Basketball Australia (BA) and South West Metro fees are included as part of registration.

2nd and subsequent players receive 15% off club seasonal fees
🔵 Introducing U23 – The Next Step
From 2026, Rockets will be entering teams into the new U23 competition.
This program is designed to:
- Bridge the gap between junior and senior basketball
- Keep players aged 17–23 engaged in the game
- Support development towards higher pathways (QSL / Youth League)
🕔 Games are planned for Friday nights, aligned with junior competition.
Who is U23 for?
- Players finishing U19s looking for the next step
- Players already in senior domestic wanting a structured team environment
- Players aiming for representative, QSL or further opportunities
- Rockets juniors wanting to stay connected to the club
